The purpose of this note is to document the steps taken to execute the server update. This note specifically documents the update from 3.11.1 to 3.11.2.1 ## Reference(s): >[!note]- Message on Telegram > > To update your servers from the latest Server Pack; > > Download the latest server pack from https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/vault-hunters-1-18-2/files > Stop your server > Delete the following folders from your server; >🔹 Mods >🔹Config >🔹patchouli_books >🔹scripts >🔹defaultconfigs > >Copy the following folders from the server pack to your server >🔹Mods >🔹Config >🔹patchouli_books >🔹scripts >🔹defaultconfigs > > Start Server. > > Any issues? Repeat above steps again and ensure you did them all. > > If you added performance mods, add them back in again. ## Intended Steps: 1. Manually trigger a backup while notifying users of impending shutdown 2. Stop Server 3. Copy the Simple Voice Chat mod for redeployment later 4. Copy the following folders: 1. Mods 2. Config 3. patchouli_books 4. scripts 5. defaultconfigs 5. Delete the backed up folders 6. Deploy the following folders from the new server pack 1. Mods 2. Config 3. patchouli_books 4. scripts 5. defaultconfigs 7. Redeploy Simple Voice Chat mod 8. Start Server The expected outcome is to be able to connect to the server using the client running version 3.11.2.1 ## Execution Notes: 1. Tested connection to the server via FTP using the details in the Apex gamepanel 1. Connection successfully established 2. Downloaded server pack files on localmachine and unzipped 3. Start execution of intended steps 4. All went according to plan until the uploading of the server pack files(Step 6). There was no "patchouli_books" folder in the server pack. This suggests that there was no update to that folder. 5. Having already deleted the "patchouli_books" folder in step 5, I decided to use the backup copy of this folder instead 6. Restarted the server, updated the local client and successfully connected to the server. 7. Done ## Additional Observations 1. I had downloaded and uploaded the folders and contents via FTP but due to the sheer number of files, it was a very lengthy process (since every file would be its own upload/download transaction despite the small size). 1. In the future, it may be faster to upload the archive and unzip on the server directly 2. Conversely, creating an archive for backup before downloading should also speed up the download process --- related: - https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/vault-hunters-1-18-2/files
